Cameron + Carlee Wedding
Barn Wedding
Martinsville, Indiana
There is something incredibly special about a wedding day where the weather doesn’t go according to plan, but absolutely nobody cares.
Yesterday, I had the absolute privilege of capturing a wedding that reminded me exactly why I fell in love with photography. From the moment I stepped onto the property, this family welcomed me with a level of respect and hospitality that completely set the tone for the entire day. They weren't just clients; they treated me like an honored guest. And then, the rain came.
Normally, a downpour can stir up a little wedding-day stress. But not with this crowd. Despite the rainy skies, there wasn’t a single ounce of frustration. Instead, everyone chose to embrace it. It turns out that when a family truly knows how to let their hair down and have fun, a little weather is just part of the adventure.
A Venue with a Heart (and Some Hooves)
The backdrop for the day was a stunning private farm belonging to a close friend of the family. It wasn’t your typical standard venue—it was a beautiful, sprawling property packed with character, charm, and some unexpected guests.
Throughout the day, I found myself sharing the space with:
- Majestic horses grazing nearby
- A few incredibly curious goats
- A donkey who seemed entirely invested in the celebration.
It was definitely a departure from the usual weddings I photograph, but it was hands-down one of the most fun environments I've ever gotten to shoot in.
Authentic Moments in the Mud
Because the family was so relaxed, the candid moments were pure gold. My favorite part of the entire day wasn't a staged pose or a perfectly lit portrait—it was simply watching these two families blend into one. Seeing everyone interact, laugh, and genuinely enjoy each other's company against the backdrop of the farm was magic.
To the newlyweds and your incredible family: thank you for reminding us all that a wedding isn't about perfect weather. It’s about perfect energy, deep respect, and knowing how to celebrate love with your boots in the mud and a smile on your face.
